The alliance was formed under auspices of the South Inner City Local Drugs and Alcohol Task Force, to give service providers in the Task Force Area the opportunity to develop opportunities for collaborative working in the areas of:

• Leadership support and mentoring

• Influencing and communicating with third parties such as funders and statutory agencies

• Raising awareness of the work of drug and alcohol charities

• Running joint campaigns

• Submitting common responses to consultations

• Sharing training and knowledge

• Sharing resources, staff and premises

• Sharing business support services

• Sharing policies and procedures

• Joint procurement

• Collaborative tendering and joint bids for funding

• Agreeing referral pathways so service-users can access the most appropriate services

• Deliver services together

• Quality standards, benchmarking and impact measurement
